Japan Oddball Cars in Forza Horizon 6
by Khi
The 2017 Toyota JPN Taxi is in Forza Horizon 6. Autoshow, 25,000 CR, front-drive, 248 D, shaped like a hat. If that is the car Google sent you to find, you can stop here, buy it, and go pick up your friends at Daikoku.
If you stayed, the Japan garage in FH6 is full of the same energy. Pike-factory Nissan toys. Kei cars. A Crown that spent its life as a Tokyo cab. A butterfly-door Sera. A snail van that also exists as an 800 S1 missile.
This is that list. Catalog links go to the car pages. History of the tiny ones: Little Giants: the history of Kei Cars.
The taxis
Two of them. Both Toyota. Both slow. Both correct.
2017 Toyota JPN Taxi. Eclectic Domestics, 248 D, Autoshow and Wheelspin. This is the current Tokyo cab: hybrid, sliding door, the official-looking one from every night shot of Shibuya. Horizon put it in the festival because the map is Japan, and Japan still moves people in these.
2005 Toyota Crown Super Deluxe Taxi. Retro Super Saloons, 181 D, Autoshow. The older school. RWD Crown Comfort language: the cab your uncle remembers, not the JPN Taxi your cousin drives. Ten thousand CR. Put a light-bar fantasy on it if you want. The silhouette already did the work.
Neither one is a cop car. For actual emergency equipment, that is police cars with lights.
Nissan’s Pike factory
Be-1, PAO, S-Cargo, Figaro. Four retro-future city cars from the late 1980s, designed like product sketches that escaped the studio. FH6 has the set.
| Car | Class | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| 1987 Nissan Be-1 | 175 D | Seasonal |
| 1989 Nissan PAO | 145 D | Collection Journal (community lists also call it a barn find) |
| 1989 Nissan S-Cargo | 131 D | Autoshow / Wheelspin |
| 1991 Nissan Figaro | 234 D | Collection Journal / treasure car |
The S-Cargo Forza Edition is the same snail at 800 S1 with a credits bonus. It belongs on the Forza Edition list as much as it belongs here. Drive the stock one to a meetup. Drive the FE when you are done pretending.
Figaro is the pretty one. Convertible, fake-vintage, the Pike car people actually put on a poster. Be-1 is the round one that started the experiment. PAO is the one with the side window cutouts. S-Cargo is the one that looks like a French pastry van even though it is a Nissan.
Sporty kei (the ABC, minus one)
Japan’s early-90s sporty kei trio was Honda Beat, Autozam AZ-1, Suzuki Cappuccino. Enthusiasts still call them ABC.
FH6 has A and B. It does not have C.
- 1991 Honda Beat: 283 D, mid-engine, Autoshow. The one that makes sense on a mountain if you do not ask it for a fourth gear.
- 1993 Autozam AZ-1: 342 D, gullwing kei, Autoshow. Mazda’s Autozam channel. Looks like a Group C car that shrank in the wash.
Not in the game: Suzuki Cappuccino, Daihatsu Copen, Honda S660. Community wishlists have been loud about all three. They are not hiding in a Wheelspin. If you want the Cappuccino silhouette, you are looking at the Beat or the AZ-1 and living with it.
The rest of the kei garage that is here:
| Car | Class | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| 1972 Honda Z GT | 100 D | Car Pass. Tiny, boxy, older than the Beat scene. |
| 1984 Honda City E II | 203 D | Tall boy City. Not a City Turbo. Still a cartoon. |
| 1994 Honda Acty | 100 D | Kei truck. Put something in the bed. Or do not. |
| 1994 Subaru Vivio RX-R | 281 D | Supercharged kei. The serious one. |
| 1994 Subaru Vivio RX-R Forza Edition | 900 S2 | Same face, Extreme Track Toy. Journal reward. |
The Vivio FE is the meanest joke in the kei category. Stock Vivio is a 281 D. Forza Edition is 900 S2. If you want the history instead of the PI, that is the kei cars essay.
Other Japan weirdos worth a garage slot
1991 Toyota Sera. 344 D, Autoshow. Butterfly canopy doors. Not a kei, not a taxi, not a Pike car. It is the one that looks like a concept drawing even when it is parked.
1970 Honda S800. 134 D, Cult Cars. Tiny sports car from before kei was a personality.
1965 Toyota Sports 800. 141 D, Collection Journal. The other small Toyota with a backbone. There is a Fanta Edition of this car. That is a promo paint, not a Forza Edition.
China cousins that sneak onto this list
They are not Japanese. They are the same joke.
- 2022 Wuling Hongguang Mini EV: 100 D, sits in the kei category on this site anyway. Electric city cube.
- 2013 Wuling Sunshine S Forza Edition: 800 S1 microvan FE, credits boost, Wheelspin.
If you are building a “things that should not be this fast” lobby, those two sit next to the S-Cargo FE and the Vivio FE.
Quick buy list
Want the oddballs without hunting journals?
Autoshow now: JPN Taxi, Crown Taxi, S-Cargo, Beat, AZ-1, Acty, City E II, Sera, S800, Mini EV.
Wait on a playlist, journal, or treasure: Be-1, PAO, Figaro, Z GT (Car Pass), Sports 800, both Forza Editions above.
Then take the taxi to Haruna, because of course you should. Famous touge in FH6 if you need the pass.
