TK002 - Shuto Hound

The 1997 Nissan Stagea RS Four V began as an unlikely idea: a practical wagon rebuilt around the character of a night-running motorway hunter. Its R34-inspired front, widened body, RB26 twin-turbo power and all-wheel-drive system gave it the right presence, but the first version was difficult to trust. Fast direction changes made it nervous, the rear lacked stability at high speed, and hard acceleration could turn small corrections into sudden oversteer. Instead of reducing its character, the entire balance was rebuilt around it. Aero, suspension, damping, differential settings and gearing were developed together, with every change judged through repeated runs, telemetry and the way the car behaved on the road. The final S2 825 build keeps the aggression that defined it from the beginning, but now uses it with purpose. It settles earlier, carries speed with greater confidence and puts its power down without constantly fighting the driver. The result is not a tame car. It is a disciplined one. At night, the Shuto Hound belongs on the expressway: tunnels, city lights and long stretches of open road. When the night is over, it returns to its own quiet place behind SOKO 78. There it waits alone. Until it is time to hunt again.
