What is Project Pursuit?
by Khi
Chasing Yourself
Every week, Horizon Club Scene launches a brand-new set of community-built stages. Your objective is simple:
Set the fastest time you can.
The catch?
You won’t know what you’re chasing.
Project Pursuit removes the leaderboard from the competition. Every record remains hidden until the event closes, meaning every driver attacks the course with nothing but instinct, experience, and determination.
No benchmark. Just you and the road.
A new challenge every week
Each Project Pursuit event consists of multi-discipline stages, carefully selected from community EventLab submissions by our Course Marshals.
Every week may feature a completely different mix.
- Touge
- Rally
- Circuit
- Drift
- Hill Climb
- Street
- …or anything the community dreams up.
Run them in any order. Improve your times as much as you’d like throughout the week while submitting your best runs on each stage.
The overall standings are determined by your combined performance across every stage.
Consistency matters just as much as outright speed.
The invisible record
Normally, time attack becomes a game of chasing numbers.
Project Pursuit changes that.
You never know whether you’re leading the event or seconds behind someone who found a completely different approach.
That uncertainty is everything.
Drivers begin experimenting… taking risks.
Searching for new lines instead of copying existing ones.
Every run becomes a genuine attempt to discover the fastest way through the course.
Saturday reveal
When the week ends…
Everything becomes public.
Every submitted run appears on the leaderboard simultaneously.
World records.
Stage winners.
Overall champions.
Near misses.
Unexpected upsets.
Sometimes you’ll discover you were only hundredths away from victory.
Sometimes someone will have found a line nobody else even considered.
The reveal is part of the competition.
Built by the community
Project Pursuit exists because of the incredible creativity within the Horizon community.
Every EventLab creator has the opportunity to submit tracks for future Pursuit weeks.
Our Course Marshals test, curate, and assemble multi-stage packs designed to create exciting, varied competitions.
Your next favorite stage might come from another community member you’ve never met.
Or it might be one you built yourself.
Why Project Pursuit?
Because discovering the fastest line is more satisfying than copying one.
Because every driver deserves the chance to surprise everyone.
Because the most exciting leaderboard…
…is the one nobody can see.
